James T. Reding CEO & Managing Member
Jim is CEO and Managing Member of Paradigm Financial Advisors, LLC. (“PFA”). Jim has over twenty years of experience providing value added advice for our clients related to investment management, estate planning, tax strategies, asset protection and business sales.
Jim started his career at Monsanto Company as a Financial Analyst in 1991 where he worked on Monsanto’s 401(k) Plan, Stock Option Plan, Pension Plan and Mergers & Acquisitions. After leaving Monsanto in 1999, Jim founded Castle Financial Advisory, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory Firm. Jim acquired Paradigm Financial Advisors in 2011 and merged the two companies under the Paradigm Financial Advisors name.
Jim attended Rockhurst University on an athletic scholarship for soccer and graduated with honors with a B.S.B.A. in Finance and Economics. Jim received his Law Degree from St. Louis University School of Law, he graduated with Cum Laude in 1995.
Jim is a member of the National Association of Fee Only Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and Missouri Bar Association.
Jim volunteers his time to serve as a Trustee and member of the Investment Committee for the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood in O’Fallon, Missouri and served for many years on the Investment Committee for St. Alban Roe Catholic Church.
Ryan Powers Director of Wealth Management
Ryan is a Wealth Manager at Paradigm Financial Advisors and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Ryan also serves as a member of Paradigm's Investment Committee. He received a B.S. in Business Economics and Finance from Southern Illinois University. Ryan is also a NAPFA - Registered Financial Advisor™.
Prior to joining Paradigm in 2011, Ryan served as an investment advisor at Edward Jones and SagePoint Financial. Ryan also served as an Investment Consultant at a local CPA firm, where he worked closely with high net worth clients on tax planning and portfolio management.
Brad A. Combs Senior Wealth Manager
With a decade of experience in wealth management, Brad manages client portfolios and provides proactive, customized financial planning that meets their specific needs. His passion is to produce outstanding results that help clients achieve their financial goals with as little stress as possible, while along the way creating a long term relationship. Brad believes deep rooted relationships are the foundation of a strong understanding of individuals and their goals. He enjoys working with clients to design a plan that meets their vision of what a successful and rewarding retirement looks like.
Brad is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a NAPFA - Registered Financial Advisor™. In addition to working with high net worth families Brad also serves on the firm’s investment committee. Brad received a B.S. in Accounting from Rockhurst University in 2003. Brad is a native of St. Louis and lives in Ballwin with his wife Emily and their two sons.
Matthew Schaller Wealth Manager
Matt joined the Paradigm team in 2012 after working for Scottrade as a stock broker. He serves as an Investment Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager, and Advisor to clients. In addition, he sits on PFA’s Investment Committee. Matt’s outgoing personality and genuine desire to see his clients succeed made him a perfect addition to Paradigm’s team.
Matt holds the CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST ® (CFA) designation, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional, and a NAPFA – Registered Financial Advisor™. Matt holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Louis University, with an emphasis in Finance and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he played lacrosse.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys exercise of any kind, traveling, golfing, and exploring the newest breweries and restaurants around the city. An avid homebrewer, Matt is a member of the St. Louis Brews homebrew club. He resides in south St. Louis with his wife and two daughters.
