James T. Reding President & CEO
Jim is President and CEO of Paradigm Financial Advisors, LLC. He has over twenty years of experience in finance and private client wealth planning.
Jim is a native of St. Louis, he attended Rockhurst University on an athletic scholarship for soccer, graduated with honors (B.S.B.A. in Finance and Economics) and received his Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University School of Law, cum laude. After six years working as a financial analyst with Monsanto, Jim began his comprehensive wealth planning firm in 1999. Jim is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and Missouri Bar Association.
He has written numerous articles on investment and financial planning including the article "Millionaires in the Making" in Money Magazine and published an article on 401(k) plan fees in the St. Louis Business Journal.
Jim serves as a Trustee and is on the investment committee for the Sister’s of the Most Precious Blood and the endowment committee for St. Alban Roe Catholic Church.
Robert J. Spindel Senior Wealth Manager
Bob started practicing in 1972, is the founder of Paradigm Financial Advisors, and is currently enjoying his "semi-retired" role. A native of St. Louis, Bob served four years in the USAF in Accounting & Finance, followed by five years as an accountant and controller for one of the largest privately-held companies in Missouri. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a NAPFA Associate, a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, a former director of the Sigma-Aldrich Foundation and a retired board member of Small World Adoption Foundation of Missouri.
In addition to being nominated for National Recognition in Worth Magazine’s list of the Nation’s Best Financial Advisors several times, Bob is very proud to have been awarded the Dalbar Seal for Financial Professionals (which measures actual client experiences with their financial advisor in the areas of trust, quality, performance and satisfaction).
Brad A. Combs NAPFA - Registered Financial Advisor™
With a decade of experience in wealth management, Brad manages client portfolios and provides proactive, customized financial planning that meets their specific needs. His passion is to produce outstanding results that help clients achieve their financial goals with as little stress as possible, while along the way creating a long term relationship. Brad believes deep rooted relationships are the foundation of a strong understanding of individuals and their goals. He enjoys working with clients to design a plan that meets their vision of what a successful and rewarding retirement looks like.
Brad is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a NAPFA - Registered Financial Advisor™. In addition to working with high net worth families Brad also serves on the firm’s investment committee. Brad received a B.S. in Accounting from Rockhurst University in 2003. Brad is a native of St. Louis and lives in Ballwin with his wife Emily and their two sons.
Ryan Powers Director of Wealth Management
Ryan is a Wealth Manager at Paradigm Financial Advisors and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Ryan also serves as a member of Paradigm's Investment Committee. He received a B.S. in Business Economics and Finance from Southern Illinois University. Ryan is also a NAPFA - Registered Financial Advisor™.
Prior to joining Paradigm in 2011, Ryan served as an investment advisor at Edward Jones and SagePoint Financial. Ryan also served as an Investment Consultant at a local CPA firm, where he worked closely with high net worth clients on tax planning and portfolio management.
Matthew Schaller Investment Research Analyst
Matt joined the Paradigm team in 2012 after working for Scottrade as a stock broker. He serves as an Investment Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager, and Advisor to clients. In addition, he sits on PFA’s Investment Committee. Matt’s outgoing personality and genuine desire to see his clients succeed made him a perfect addition to Paradigm’s team.
Matt holds the CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST ® (CFA) designation and is currently studying for the CFP exam. Matt holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Louis University, with an emphasis in Finance and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he played lacrosse.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys exercise of any kind, traveling, golfing, and exploring the newest breweries and restaurants around the city. An avid homebrewer, Matt is a member of the St. Louis Brews homebrew club. He resides in south St. Louis with his wife and daughter.
